Road Trips from Baltimore, MD

While Baltimore, MD is one of the more entertaining and historical cities on the East Coast, it doesn't mean that people who live in this part of the state don't get a little restless sometimes. Thankfully, with so many interesting nearby destinations, there are plenty of ways that Heritage Chrysler Dodge Jeep® RAM Owings Mills customers can spread out and take some truly fantastic day trips behind the wheels of their RAM trucks and Jeep SUVs.

In fact, here are a few of our favorite nearby road trip locations, all of which can be done in a single day:

Antietam National Battlefield, Sharpsburg, MD – About 70 miles from Baltimore, MD, this historical Civil War attraction provides a glimpse into America's past. Situated on fields among the Appalachian foothills, it features a visitor center, a national military cemetery, stone arch Burnside's Bridge, and a field hospital museum.

Glen Echo Park, MD – This old amusement park still offers a beautiful antique 1921 Dentzel menagerie carousel, but there also are plenty of opportunities in town to enjoy dances, concerts, picnics, and parks. The carousel is worth the trip on its own, but this is a cool area regardless.

Solomons Island, MD – Recently named one of "America's Happiest Seaside Towns" by Coastal Living magazine, which makes sense considering how gorgeous it is, Solomons Island features a lighthouse, gardens, beautiful waterfront parks and more. This is a truly scenic area to visit, and it's only 80 miles from Baltimore.

Hop into your 2017 Jeep Cherokee or 2017 Chrysler 300 and make the most of this gorgeous state. There are so many great day trip spots in Maryland worth visiting this summer, so get out there and see them behind the wheel of your favorite automobile!
